Father's Day : June, 20
Father’s day is approaching and it is time to rescue Dads from the hot grill, for preparing family BBQ to celebrate this day. Treat them with a delicious meal and there is no place better than India Restaurant for the special man, who helped us to grow into a successful adult. This is a wonderful opportunity to make him feel celebrated.
It is not the day to wish your own Dad, but you can celebrate the day for anyone who is a Dad. The tradition of honouring fathers in a special way was started about 4000 years ago by a young boy of Babylon, named Elmusu. Elmusu wished his father good health and a long life by carving a Father's day card made out of clay.
The idea for creating a day for children to honour their fathers was started by Sonora Smart Dodd on 19th of June, 1910 at Spokane, Washington. She thought of the idea for celebrating a day for fathers, while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Since she was raised by her father after the death of her mother, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. Her father, Henry Jackson Smart, made all the parental sacrifices and in her eyes was a courageous, selfless, and loving man.
Later, in 1972, President Nixon, established a permanent national observance of Father's Day to be held on the third Sunday of June.

So, give your father his Father’s day gift while having a wonderful open air lunch or dinner with your family at the cool front patio or the beautifully decorated back courtyard of India Restaurant. Make 2010 Father’s day memorable for him. A meal of delicious foods with his favourite wine by the fireplace is right to set the mood. So, don’t wait, plan the celebration today!!!
