Established in 1995, India is a groundbreaking restaurant in the historic Eastside of Providence serving eclectic Indian cuisine. The restaurant has been voted "Best of RI" for 10 years in a row. India is an elegantly designed restaurant featuring beautiful dining rooms, a bar with over 200 candles, and special private seating areas with cozy fireplaces for intimate occasions.

Voted among the 10 Best Places for Alfresco Dining by Providence Monthly, India's front patio boasts of sweeping views of Blackstone Boulevard and Lippitt Park.  The back Garden Courtyard with  swings for seats along with lush gardens, water fountains and ambient lighting is a hidden jewel.  Guests may choose from different dining experiences: The front patio or the quiet back courtyard, front row seats to a Bollywood movie, side walk seating with your dog or a cozy table by any of the fireplaces.... 

The new menu focuses on healthful Indian creations offering even more vegetarian and gluten free choices.  In an effort to create a healthier and lighter meal, we have modified traditional Indian recipes to eliminate excess fat, cholesterol and calories without sacrificing the taste and flavor.  There are daily specials created from the freshest seafood caught by local fishermen or produce from our resident farmers. Voted "Best of Rhode Island" by Providence Phoenix readers India features a very popular Saturday and Sunday Buffet Brunch with an extensive spread of over 15 of the popular menu items.  This is a great way to sample some of our menu offerings...especially for someone who has never tried Indian cuisine before.

Our bar, is the most buzzing area within the restaurant. With the arches and candle elements we have been reviewed to have one of the most significant interior spaces in Providence. The bar seats about 20 patrons along with a lounge.  The Jumbo Margaritas voted "Best Of RI" by RI Monthly readers will certainly wet your palate...The $1 Appettizer menu availble on weekdays from 3-8pm is popular among the locals.

Facts you should know about us:

• In an effort to make the menu healthier and lighter, our chef has modified traditional Indian recipes to eliminate excess fat, cholesterol and calories, naturally,  without sacrificing the taste.
• We use only canola oil which is lower in saturated fat than any other oil. 
• We do no use butter or butter fat in our recipes.
• We do not fry anything on our menu.
• No artificial flavors , food colors or chemicals such as MSG are used in our recipes.
• All breads and samosas are baked fresh to order.
• All the vegetarian and vegan items are 100% vegetarian.
• We do not use any peanuts or peanut oil in our restaurant.
• If for any reason upon tasting our preparations you do not approve of anything, please bring it to our notice. We will exchange it for another dish of similar or lower price for you to enjoy at no additional charge.
• Please advise your server of any allergies to certain food items or any other preferences when you place your order. We will gladly adjust most recipes to accommodate the concerns of ourdiet conscious and spice sensitive patrons.
